UET Centre represented by one of its researcher has been part of the meetings in Tirana and Belgrade regarding the Joint Science Conference to discuss and provide insights on science and research. The conference “Moving Forward-Guidelines to improved Science system”, held in Vienna, Austria from 22nd to 24th of May, was organized within the framework of the Western Balkans Berlin Process, which aims at bringing the six countries together in their path towards European Integration and regional cooperation.
The outcome of the 1st JSC-WBP was summarized in a Joint Statement. The 2nd JSC-WBP focused on improving science, research and higher education systems in the Western Balkans (WB) in the light of integration into the European Union (EU), emphasizing three areas of discussion: 1. institutional and systemic change, 2. quality assurance in different areas, and 3. concrete ideas for implementing positive change. The document has been presented to the Paris ministerial on 4th of July 2016.

roma youthUET Centre in cooperation with the European University of Tirana and the partner organization Institute of Roma Culture - IRCA have established a project for the empowerment of the marginalized young people, the Roma community, in order to combat discrimination in Albania. This Project is supported by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung - Rule of Law Program South East Europe (RLP SEE). UET Centre has organized a two day seminar/Workshop on "The participation and involvement of the Roma community in local governance" at the European University of Tirana.

bukureshtThe European University of Tirana takes part in the study visit and workshop within Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education QAinAL project at University Politehnica Bucharest. The aim of the visit is to exchange best practices and improve Quality Assurance and its supportive structures in HEI. During the three days of the stay the representatives were introduced to the Romanian national regulations in HEI and QA in accordance with the EU regulations, as well as practices of University Politehnica related to QA at their institutions.

swiss contactSwisscontact SECO Entrepreneurship Program in collaboration with the European University of Tirana, UET Centre, TECH 360, OFICINA and PROTIC have organized a three day training in order to support the new entrepreneurs in Albania. The training brought together entrepreneurs and mentors of Business Incubators, Accelerator Programmes, Start Up designers and representatives from the universities and innovation centers.


This interesting part of this training was that the model of work was based in the innovation methods for working with the entrepreneurs such as the techniques of Design Thinking Process and Business Model Assessment. European University of Tirana has now established the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Club, and meanwhile is working on new initiatives to promote the entrepreneurship.

net castleUET Centre in collaboration with the European University of Tirana, Institution of Prefect of Gjirokastra Region, Region of Ionian Islands /Regional Unit of Corfu and Regional Unit of Thesprotia have established a project on the promotion of cultural heritage through new technologies of information, this project is financed from IPA CBC of the European Union. The NETCASTLE project involves the enhancement and promotion of a common cultural product in the border area in order to boost the tourism industry through the use of new technologies and e-tourism. Its implementation started with the organization of the kick-off meeting between the partners in NetCastle.
