1st TV debate regarding the project of “Improving Local Media Capacities to Fight Religious Radicalism and Violent Extremism in Elbasan”


This cycle of TV debates is organized under the project "Civil Society Countering Violent Extremism" funded by the European Union in Albania and is implemented by the Albanian Helsinki Committee, the Norwegian Helsinki Committee, the Dutch Helsinki Committee, the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Serbia, and Together for Life, Albania.


The first TV debate addresses the situation of the violent extremism and religious radicalism spread in the world, the causes that led to the creation of the so-called Islamic State, the war in Syria and Iraq and its consequences for the Middle East and other regions, such as Europe and the Western Balkans. The approach of the analysis will be not only geopolitical but also theological, trying to explain the causes and roots of violent extremism as well as the manipulation of religion for other purposes.

 Strengthen the linkages between the universities and job provider institutions at central and local level.




Improve the theoretical and practical knowledge of master’s students on territory administration, agricultural policies, rural development and innovation as well as their negotiation and participative decision-making skills.



Develop a long term blended research network of EU and Albania researchers on these thematic.
