road1For the first time in Albania, a Joint Master between EU and Western Balkans universities with a focus on political sciences was introduced at the EU Information Center on 25th April 2017. University of Tirana/Faculty of Social Sciences and European University of Tirana introduced the new program of Joint Master in Political SciencesIntegration and Government (#PoSIG) during the roadshow “We encourage Western Balkans”. The activity was opened for everyone interested in political sciences studies, Europeanization, good governance and internationalization of higher education. This was organized within the EuroPS project, funded by European Union, Erasmus+ Programme.

finac1In the framework of the Financial Management, Accounting and controlling curricula development for capacity building of public administration (FINAC) project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union, Higher Education capacity building sub-program, project delegation from Serbia visited the project’s partner institutions in Albania on April 24-29, 2017. The coordination meetings took place in Tirana and Shkoder and were organized by project team member from European University of Tirana and Shkoder University "Luigj Gurakuqi". The speakers and participants highlighted the relevance of the project in light of the EU integration processes and capacity building of public administration in Albania. Stakeholders praised the focus on financial management, controlling and auditing curricula as a crucial need of the modernisation and Europeanisation of Albanian public administration.

trainingUET Centre participates in the TRAIN Programme, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe) and run by the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP).
With the aim of fostering policy dialogue between think tanks and political actors in the Western Balkans, the TRAIN programme (Think Tanks Providing Research and Advice through Interaction and Networking) offers organizations from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia training and networking opportunities. In a series of workshops, participating researchers work on writing policy papers and advocacy strategies. Afterward the participants present their findings to decision-makers in Brussels as well as at the national level.
The general theme of the TRAIN Programme 2017 is “corruption and informal practices” and UET Centre is drafting a policy paper on Selective Decision Making in Procurement Review System in Albania.



 Strengthen the linkages between the universities and job provider institutions at central and local level.




Improve the theoretical and practical knowledge of master’s students on territory administration, agricultural policies, rural development and innovation as well as their negotiation and participative decision-making skills.



Develop a long term blended research network of EU and Albania researchers on these thematic.




UET Centre intends to contribute towards the progress and democratization of the Albanian society through policy-oriented research projects, capacity building and joint programmes.
