coorp bbOn 8th of June, at the premises of the Canadian Institute of Technology, the innovative platform COORP was introduced to representatives from universities in Albania. The Canadian Institute of Technology and the European University of Tirana have initiated the establishment of COORP – Collaborative Offline and Online Platform. This initiative is supported by PERFORM, a project funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. The meeting was moderated by Ms. Blerjana Bino, UET and Mr. Fabjan Lashi, CIT who discussed with present members about the platform and its development.


The overall aim is to assist in networking and integration of the Albanian academic community into the international community of researchers, and to respond efficiently to Calls for research funding. COORP has two dimensions, namely the capacity development or offline dimension; and the set of the platform or the online dimension.

scoreThe European University of Tirana in collaboration with the Faculty of Economy and the Ministry of Educations and Sports has signed the Memorandum of Understanding for one of the new initiatives on the higher education system in Albania, CleanScore.


CleanScore is a special project which aims to introduce a new way of grading and reporting on each exam students take, as well as introduce new textbooks for specific subjects. CleanScore is a digital testing center solution that helps to improve transparency in student evaluation as well as teaching quality by substituting current local textbooks with international versions.


During the activity the President of EUT, Prof.Dr. Adrian Civici estimated the initiative. He said that the project is a good opportunity to increase the efficiency of the academic staff. This project is financed by AADF which is a nonprofit corporation governed by a Board of Trustees which operates entirely in Albania.

The European University of Tirana organized the third edition of Albanian Studies Days from 29th-30th of April 2016. This is the third consecutive year of such a conference and this year’s topic was “Albania as a case study: economy, politics, social development, and future perspective”.

The peculiar feature of this ASD edition lies in the fact that the task of studying Albania and its challenges was entrusted to Albanian researchers, scholars and academics working in universities and research centers abroad, in many countries around the world, especially those in the EU and OECD countries, to mention but a few Dr. Arolda Elbasani, European University Institute; Dr. Elton Skendaj, University of Miami; Dr. Shqiponja Telhaj, Sussex University; Ms. Vera Ndrecaj, University of South Wales.



 Strengthen the linkages between the universities and job provider institutions at central and local level.




Improve the theoretical and practical knowledge of master’s students on territory administration, agricultural policies, rural development and innovation as well as their negotiation and participative decision-making skills.



Develop a long term blended research network of EU and Albania researchers on these thematic.




UET Centre intends to contribute towards the progress and democratization of the Albanian society through policy-oriented research projects, capacity building and joint programmes.
