The UET Centre organised on the 03rd July the final conference on minority rights, thus concluding the project “Minority Rights in Albania: Roma youth empowerment through education and leadership”, supported by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Rule of Law Program in South East Europe and in partnership with the European University of Tirana and the Institute of Romani Culture in Albania. The conference brought together relevant stakeholders on Roma issues, academics, representatives from the Albanian government institutions, Roma and non-Roma youth organizations, community leaders, civil society activists and representatives of the private sector in order to present, share and discuss the challenges against Roma discrimination through education and leadership.

v1The UET Centre in partnership with the UET Press and with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture has completed the project on the interlinks between the diplomacy and creativity throughout the Albanian diplomatic history with the launch of the book: ‘Our Ambassadors: Connections between diplomacy and creativity’ by Valbona Nathanaili and with the introduction by Prof. Dr. Ylljet Aliçka, former ambassador of Albania in France. The book launch was organised at the European University of Tirana with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Culture, Mr Zef Çuni, representatives from the diplomatic sector, former ambassadors, representatives from the art, literature and culture spheres, lectures, students and family members of former ambassadors.


The UET Centre, the British Council, the British Embassy in Tirana and the European University of Tirana organised the visit of the British Ambassador in Albania in UET on the 10th December 2012. The main purpose of the event was the presentation of the UET Centre research project on the ‘Development of the English Language in the higher education in Albania as an instrument for academic and professional achievement’.




 Strengthen the linkages between the universities and job provider institutions at central and local level.




Improve the theoretical and practical knowledge of master’s students on territory administration, agricultural policies, rural development and innovation as well as their negotiation and participative decision-making skills.



Develop a long term blended research network of EU and Albania researchers on these thematic.




UET Centre intends to contribute towards the progress and democratization of the Albanian society through policy-oriented research projects, capacity building and joint programmes.
